You see the problem I have with tourist Is that they are free to leave whenever they want
But Me, I am bound to this city By way of shotgun marriage
It is fused in my blood stream My veins look the same as the redline
Heart beats percussion Nerves pulsate go-go
I impartial to the sounds Footsteps have drummed
Many of solos on the artful grounds of U street
But you see not the sections left out by brochures,
Reroute you and yours to my city, minus THE allure
Come catch the bus with me
Hop on the W4 and out the window
see remnants of Darfur Atom bomb stricken As it glistens with gentrified sulfur
Come see the babies in jezebel attire
The Princesses and Pill Paupers Turn Protocol for Pregnancy Into that of stomach ulcers
See the doctor to get rid of it
See the roses yet to fully bloom In commute to school
Scraping though concrete like quicksand As bookbags are carried like back tumors
For it is rumored that learning is DEADLY
Hear the Medley of damnation Placed in the ears of scholars
as Articulation get mistaken for witchcraft
It seems Learning, is borderline sorcery So bare witness to the crabs in Nike Boots
Torturing the ankles of tomorrow leaders
Come watch the elders drunken with amnesia Forgetting why they struggled
Watch the village that used to check others kids be muzzled by fear
And then watch them turn around and give diagnosis with out prescription
Fingers pointed in the direction of afflictions, far more than the remedies
We are policed by robots, Their native tongue is machine gun
Shoot young, speak no type of compassion but are affluent in the language of Artillery
Until the point where Mourners become funeral connoisseurs
Pros at sitting in the second row As the glow of death shines truer
Through the stained glass windows
There were blacks in that “White”house before the Obamas
Come Tour the crack house, Where Pipes are passed like bills and legislation
Witness a fiends devastation As syringes fondle veins
Watch crack cocaine commit molestation and make it look like recreational use
Saved by NOTHING but Gods grace The Youth drowning in sexual transgression
If the Dow Jones rose as high as the HIV rate We’d be out of recession
Can you see the Potomac Gardeners as well as the Barry Farmers
Grow fruitless harvest Remaining project products No Crops just poison
“Weed killers” infectious in every way
And everyday I inhale the toxins
The Doctrine of the ghetto Tattooed on my eyelids In awe with my mouth wide
Neutral in midst of a civil war being fought between Uptown and the Southside
Fighting for a freedom they have no patent to
Too far gone to wake up and smell the apartheid Irrational in every sense of the word
And oh how it hurts to see one eye be blinded by the other
And oh how I sometimes long to smell sweet musk of concrete burning rubber
As the tire tracks of a Greyhound Bus write my Dear John Letter
onto the pavement of which I was raised
Combing through the road Parting ways forever Straightening kinks in my head
Formed from many days of no relaxer in this city of disaster
This asphalt purgatory With Carryout cornerstones
And Gentrified facelifts Hiding its ugliness behind its fakeness
But I love it like a childhood best friend, whose immature antics I’ve outgrown
But can’t seem to disown because we’ve known each other since we were little kids
And who needs peace when we’ve got years
There has been not a fear that I have yet to overcome here
DC in all of your ugliness,
I still will always love you…

I want to stop drinking hard liquor.
I want to stop cursing.
I want to start going to bible study, with a friend.
I want to be more honest, no holding back.
I want to be okay with being alone.
I want to recycle.
I want to think before I act, more often.
I want to do volunteer work.
I want to be grateful.
"These are my goals. I'm taking baby steps to becoming a better person and fitting more comfortably in my shoes..."
You ever wanna talk to someone really bad even thought you don't have anything of substance to converse about? So you come up with a random question like "would you rather eat worms or snails? You have to choose one".
I do this from time to time...
"they got the game twisted heavy traffic in this rap shit look how my lane shifted elevated my game lifted my name now these lame niggas could never get it like that bad bitch you wanted but could never hit it"
I don't think anyone knows the true definition of a best friend until they meet someone whom they can feel free around. No cover ups, no readjusting, just you. My best friend is Sandra G. I met her in high school but first hung out with her on her 19th birthday, April 20, 2008. It was a random invite but I was more than grateful to accept. She unknowingly picked me up off the ground when I was at a low point in my life. She was the light down the new path that God had created for me. We've never fought nor have we even argued with one another, that says a lot about our alliance. She is the person who can be sincerely happy for my situation even when she's not happy with her own. The godmother of my unborn child, my sister, my Rich Girl, Sandra G.
She is my air, my heart, my number one reason for wanting to be here today. She's my mother, the woman I love like no other. She has created so much out of the little she had in the past. She proved to me that where there's a will, there's a way. Her way. When I'd focus on the wrong things as a kid, she reminded me that there's more to life than increasing its speed. Slow down and live age appropriate. As her 16 inch locks sway to the beat of her footsteps, her curvy silhouette and youthful, make up free skin defines that beauty is skin deep. I thank the lord for her, not only because she birthed me, but because she raised me to be the young lady that I am, independently. We bump heads from time to time but always seem to hug tighter in end. She is a mother of two, a lover, and a friend.
"She defines everything a mother should be..."
Everyday, I leave a mental note reminding myself of changes I want to make in my life when 2010 arrives but... why wait?

"What do you aspire for in 2010? What did you set out to achieve in 2009 that you haven't fully accomplished? 2009 has been a progressive year for me. I've experienced a broader spectrum of emotion this year..."

"My blog is a reflection of me which edifies who I am as a person..."
My blog is a public online diary of my daily thoughts. No comments are necessary, just pure apprehension. Do not judge me solely on my comments, but actually feel my words and take me as I am...
Entrepreneur; Event Planner
I will own my business.
Plan a profitable event!
Although I'm a girl who loves to take full credit for special projects, I absolutely need a team. I not only need a team who will help develop strategies for making a profit, I need a team who has the drive I have, who has connections, and who will work overtime to make sure everything goal is accomplished and every objective is met.
Let's converse over brunch...give me a reason to celebrate!
A lot of females I see are weaving their hair, even those who don't need it. I mean, there's nothing wrong with wearing weaves but why not expose the real and conceal the fake?
Love your hair... no matter what!
I won't even mention the make up... smh
I'll start by recycling plastic and decreasing the amount of electricity I use throughout my house... you know, preserve energy. Baby steps make all the difference!
I admit, I eat Popeyes way to much for someone who has had high cholesterol for about 6 years. My cholesterol might have lowered since then but it runs in my family so that doesn't mean it'll stay low. I just love Popeyes so much. I promise myself that I will eat Popeyes no more than three times a month starting 2010. Exclusion is not an option.
This is retarded...
Have you ever did "it" in the shower...
with the lights off?"
